eOne Closes Raft of New Sales

LOS ANGELES/TORONTO: Entertainment One (eOne) has firmed up a number of new deals, totaling close to 400 hours of programming, including The Walking Dead heading to the online pay-TV service Viaplay and Netflix in Scandinavia, among other territories. 

The post-zombie apocalyptic series was also picked up by Kadokawa in Japan, FOX in Norway and Finland, DR in Denmark, TV4 in Sweden, Prima TV in Czech Republic and 4+ in Switzerland. Along with The Walking Dead, Viaplay and Netflix in Scandinavia went for AMC’s Hell on Wheels. The dark comedy Call Me Fitz sold to Sony SPE in Africa, FOX Portugal and FX in pan-Asia.

The Scandinavian Netflix service also picked up the sci-fi drama Haven. Viaplay in Scandinavia and Prima TV in the Czech Republic took on the police drama Rookie Blue. In French Canada, Ztele acquired Primeval: New World. Canal Vie secured the lifestyle series SugarStars

M6 in France opted for two Hallmark movies: Goodnight for Justice: Measure of a Man and Goodnight for Justice: Queen of Hearts. It also picked up Horses of McBride and the romantic comedy Tom, Dick & Harriet

The Universal Channel bagged Reel Love, 16 Love and It’s Christmas Carol for Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, CIS and the Baltics. Universal Channel in Hungary, Czech, Slovakia, the Balkans, Africa, Russia, CIS, Baltics, Poland and Romania landed the rights for the action drama Deadliest Sea.

In Russia, 2×2 scored the comedies Todd and the Book of Pure Evil and Mr D. Sony Turbo in Russia went for the animated comedy The Dating Guy and noir-style mystery anthology Femme Fatales
