eOne Appoints Pair of Acquisitions Managers

TORONTO/LONDON/LOS ANGELES: Entertainment One (eOne) has named Jessica Watson and Justina Hemperek to the respective roles of manager of acquisitions and manager of factual acquisitions for the U.K. and Europe.

As the manager of acquisitions across all genres, Watson will be charged with acquiring television content for distribution to all media outlets around the globe. She will work out of Toronto and will report to Prentiss Fraser, eOne’s senior VP of worldwide sales and acquisitions. Watson previously served as an acquisitions specialist at TELETOON. Before that she spent a half decade working for Astral, where she acquired series and films for five speciality channels.

In her new position, Hemperek will acquire all factual programming from the U.K. and Europe. Based in London, she will also report to Fraser. Before her appointment at eOne, Hemperek was an acquisitions manager at ITV Studios Global Entertainment, where she acquired factual content such as Come Dine with Me and Four Weddings, to name a few. In the past she was employed by ALL3MEDIA international and RDF Rights.

"Known for premium content and with an already well-established production slate, eOne is expanding our acquisition team to continue the growth of our catalogue," remarked Fraser. "Justina and Jessica will play an integral role in the ramp up on sourcing new content and the redefining of our offerings to clients worldwide. They will focus on quality not quantity and will be actively looking for new brands for us embrace and build on a global level."
