LOS ANGELES/LONDON: Endemol USA has set up an office in New York City, and has added to its development team at the new hub as well as in Los Angeles.

The new NYC post will focus on the cable space. This Manhattan office will operate in addition to True Entertainment and Original Media, Endemol’s acquired companies in New York. The move sees Dave Hamilton assume the role of VP of development in New York. Hamilton most recently served as VP of development and production at VH1, where he was responsible for the series Tool Academy, Scream Queens and What Chilli Wants.

Endemol USA is also increasing its development resources in Los Angeles, with the appointment of Michael Weinberg as VP of development. Weinberg was most recently the co-executive producer of NBC’s America’s Got Talent and 1 vs 100, FOX’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics and Comedy Central’s The Showbiz Show with David Spade. He also worked on the launch of Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

Both Hamilton and Weinberg will report to Caroline Baumgard, Endemol USA’s senior VP of development, who oversees all non-scripted development including original idea generation, developing international formats for the U.S. marketplace, selling to U.S. buyers and overseeing pilot production.

Baumgard commented: "Michael Weinberg and Dave Hamilton have incredible experience in both production and development and they will be important players in continuing to help build successful Endemol shows and brands. By having support on both coasts, this will allow us to have an even larger presence."

To further bolster its development business, Endemol USA is also expanding its production roster, hiring Noah Beery to serve as VP of production. Beery will report to senior VP Rob Day, who oversees all of Endemol USA’s productions. Beery was previously a production executive at MTV, with credits such as Paris Hilton’s My New BFF 2, Bully Beatdown, Disaster Date and Parental Control.
