Endemol Sport Preps Manchester City Feature

LONDON/MANCHESTER: Endemol Sport is producing a feature film on the English Premier League football team Manchester City called Blue Moon Rising.

Endemol will handle the worldwide theatrical, TV and DVD distribution of the film, which will be shot using "Red" camera technology. It will follow a group of the team’s fans through the 2009/10 season. The feature also looks at the club’s new owner, Sheikh Mansour of Abu Dhabi, and features interviews with celebrity fans like former Oasis front man Noel Gallagher. Blue Moon Rising is directed by Stewart Sugg and produced by Nick London. A theatrical release is slated for summer 2010. Endemol Worldwide Distribution will roll the feature out to TV and DVD outlets worldwide.

Announcing the film, Gregg Oldfield, the managing director of Endemol Sport, said: "Our aim is to create something on an epic scale that will capture the beautiful game as never seen before. Blue Moon Rising will combine cinematic production value and breathtaking footage with the very real human drama that defines the club and its fans. This promises to be an entertaining, intimate, and funny film that reveals a passion for football rarely seen before on the silver screen."
