Endemol Showcasing New Formats at MIPCOM

HILVERSUM, September 30: A
mix of new reality, entertainment and game-show formats, including the
psychological-competition series Estate of Panic, will be on offer at MIPCOM from Endemol.

Estate of Panic challenges contestants to hunt for cash in a huge
country house filled with terrifying challenges. The show is set to make its
debut in the U.S. this November on SCI FI Channel. As it did for its hit series
Wipeout, Endemol built an
international set for Estate of Panic in Argentina.

Also a highlight is
Endemol U.K.’s Spinstar, which
combines casino-style gambling with a studio game show. A first series of 30
episodes has been picked up by ITV1 in the U.K., and is set to premiere later
this year.

Conveyor Belt of Love is another new offering from Endemol U.K. This
hybrid dating/talent show watches as women in search of love choose between
potential daters who are on a conveyer belt.

The new game-show format First
and Last
centers on the idea of
not coming in first or last place, while For Love or For Money uses voice-analyzing technology to reveal if
couples are being truthful about questions they’d rather not answer. For
Love or For Money
made its debut
on Telefe in Argentina earlier this year.

Rounding out the slate is
a new lineup of formats from Talpa Media. These include Guesstimation, an entertainment offering; the dating series Hungry
for Love
; You are the Star, a talent show; and the reality formats Celebrities
on Welfare
and Can’t Buy Me
Love
.

Endemol will also be
unveiling a never-before-seen global game show at an exclusive showcase in
Cannes on October 14.

Paul Romer, Endemol’s
newly appointed global head of programming, commented: “Our creative network
continues to generate new global formats at a phenomenal rate and this is one
of the most extensive portfolios of debuting shows we’ve ever taken to Cannes.
It’s a fantastic lineup of reality, entertainment and game shows with huge
international potential.”
