Echo Bridge Lands Broadcast Deals for Teen Series

NEEDHAM/LOS ANGELES: Echo Bridge Entertainment has closed a slate of agreements for two teen series from its Alliance Atlantis Distribution catalogue: Degrassi: The Next Generation and Instant Star.

European deals for Degrassi: The Next Generation include Poland’s Canal+ Cyfrowy Sp. Zoo, taking seasons seven and eight; France’s Canal J, which took season seven; and Spain’s Antena 3 went for seasons four and five. At MIPTV, the company will premiere season eight of Degrassi: The Next Generation, currently in production on 22 half-hour episodes. The series airs in the U.S. on The N.

A number of deals have also been closed across Europe and the Middle East for the teen series Instant Star. Canal+ Cyfrowy Sp. Zoo went for season four, Israel’s Noga Communications took seasons one through eight and MTV in Spain scooped up seasons one, two and three. Spain and Andorra’s Antena 3 picked up the first eight seasons of Instant Star, while MTV Networks in Spain and Andorra took season four and France’s Canal J also went for season four.
