E1 Staffs Up Sales Team

TORONTO/LOS ANGELES/LONDON: E1 Television International has expanded its international TV sales division with the appointment of three new executives.

Helen Curtis has been hired as head of sales, Cristina Sala is the new sales manager and Tom Misselbrook joins as sales executive. All three will report to Prentiss Fraser, the VP and head of sales for E1 Television International.

Curtis will handle Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and inflight entertainment, along with assisting Fraser with the U.K. Prior to joining E1, Curtis was the director of sales at MTV Networks International.

Sala is responsible for Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany. She joins E1 from Endemol International, where she supervised the distribution program for Latin America as well as program sales to Benelux, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, India, Finland, Iceland and Africa.

Misselbrook is to direct sales for Greece, Africa, the Middle East, Israel and Turkey. Misselbrook previously worked in both the U.K. and Canada with Distraction Formats.

Furthermore, Charlotte Throp has been named the new head of TV sales and business development for E1’s film unit. She will report to Alex Hamilton, the director of film. Thorp will handle theatrical sales to U.K. TV and digital markets and will work closely with the new international TV sales unit to drive film and television sales.
