DVR Boosting ABC Series

BURBANK: ABC series are once again the most popularly recorded and played back, according to Nielsen’s Live + 7 Day information, which showed freshman sci-fi drama V jump by 2.4 million viewers. 

ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy was TV’s most played back show, and V and FlashForward were the top two freshman series gainers in total viewers and adults. V increased by 1 rating point with adults 18 to 49, finishing with an average audience of 16.7 million viewers and 6.2 adult 18 to 49 rating in the final DVR playback averages. 

ABC had five of the top eight overall gainers in total viewers, with Grey’s Anatomy, V, Private Practice, FlashForward and Castle. Among adults 18 to 49, ABC aired seven of the top 15 TV series with the biggest rating increases. Grey’s Anatomy increased 31 percent, Private Practice by 29 percent, V by 19 percent, FlashForward by 35 percent, Desperate Housewives grew by 21 percent, Modern Family by 23 percent and Castle by 29 percent.
