Dresden to Host Science World Congress

TORONTO: The 2010 World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP) is set to take place in Dresden, Germany, from November 30 to December 3, with some 500 broadcasters, producers and distributors expected to attend.

Last year, in Melbourne, about 200 broadcast representatives attended, including executives from ZDF, ABC, ARD, ARTE, BBC, CBC, Channel 4, Discovery, FIVE, France 5, National Geographic, NDR, NHK, Rai, WGBH and Thirteen/WNET New York.

ZDF will serve as host broadcaster for the year’s event, which will feature workshops, networking events and panels. Highlights include commissioning editor speed dating and updates from broadcasters, distributors and funders; and an on-demand video library of delegates’ productions.

The 18th annual Congress is managed by Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival on behalf of the WCSFP.
