Dori’s Split Picked Up by Turner in Latin America

MIAMI: The teen vampire-themed daily drama Split has been sold by Dori Media Group into 32 countries in seven months, with the newest sale going to Turner Broadcasting System Latin America for its Boomerang channel.

Split was originally produced exclusively for Israeli cable platform HOT’s VOD service, which has some 1 million subscriber households. The show also aired on The Children’s Channel in Israel. Based on the success of the first season, both HOT and The Children Channel decided to invest in producing a second season of Split, which will also contain 45 30-minute episodes. The second season, produced by Dori Media Darset, will go on air during the second quarter of 2010.

Nadav Palti, the president and CEO of Dori Media Group, commented: "The continuing alliance with Turner International is a further milestone for Dori Media and we are happy that the great potential of Split was recognized by this established company. We believe that the high production standards of Split and its international appeal most certainly contributed to Turner’s decision in bringing this attractive property to its Boomerang Latin America viewers. We are sure that soon Split will reach more countries worldwide and conquer the hearts of teenagers around the world, as it deals with one of the hottest trends today, vampires".

"We are delighted to offer our Latin American audiences an exciting series like Split, which features intriguing new characters and an engaging story line," added Vicky Zambrano, the channel director of Boomerang Latin America.
