Dori’s Split Headed to Italy

MIAMI: Split, a new teen-vampire daily drama, has been sold by Dori Media Group to Italian IPTV outfit Yam 1.

Originally produced by Dori Media Darset for the VOD service of Israeli cable platform HOT, the series generated a total of approximately 5,000,000 viewings in just three months. The first season of 45 30-minute episodes is now aired on Israel’s The Children’s Channel. The second season, produced by Dori Media Darset, will go on air in the second quarter of 2010.

Nadav Palti, the president and CEO of Dori Media Group, commented: "We are very happy to announce another sale of Split to Italy. We had great faith in Split ever since we got acquainted with its unique story line, which breaks boundaries, and its talented cast. We are delighted with the positive feedback Split receives from buyers around the globe, which makes us believe that this is one of many deals to come for this daily drama."

Karni Ziv, the VP of content for HOT, added: “HOT is proud to lead the world of homemade original productions and to be a pioneer in original productions for VOD. The VOD world is important and significant among young audiences and HOT will keep on leading the investment in original content for children. We consider Split to be an important asset in strengthening the children universe in HOT, specifically on HOT VOD.”
