DLT Acquires U.K. Format Rights to Miss Ability

LONDON, May 31: DLT Entertainment has acquired the U.K.
format rights to Miss Ability, a beauty
pageant that originally aired in the Netherlands focusing on women with
physical disabilities.

The original Dutch version of Miss Ability broadcast in the Netherlands on NL 2 last year, where
it garnered 25-percent of the market share and won its timeslot. The second
competition will air in early June. The contestants compete for the Miss
Ability
title to become an ambassador of
disabled rights in Holland. A competition that involves personality,
intelligence, charisma and beauty, Miss Ability empowers the contestants to focus on their strengths
and represent physical disability in a positive light.

DLT Entertainment is currently in discussions with a number
of broadcasters in the U.K. and is exploring the possibility of obtaining the
U.S. rights for the show.

Don Taffner Jr, the president of DLT Entertainment,
commented: “We believe Miss Ability to
be a very exciting and thought-provoking idea. The television market is currently awash with varying talent
competitions; however Miss Ability
brings a new dimension to the table, separating itself from the rest of the
crowd. The show did extremely well in the Netherlands and we are sure that we
can equal that success here in the U.K.”
