DivaTV Picks Up CBS’s The Talk for U.K. Broadcast

LONDON: The daily CBS chat show The Talk is to make its U.K. premiere exclusively on the female-skewing lifestyle channel DivaTV on July 4.

DivaTV acquired the exclusive U.K. broadcast rights from CBS Studios International. The Talk is hosted by an all-female panel, featuring a mix of topical chat and celebrity guests. The series launched on CBS in October 2010 and has been attracting a daily average audience of 2.2 million viewers. The hosts are Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete.

Laurence Dawkin-Jones, the U.K. managing director of Universal Networks International, said: “As the home of The Oprah Winfrey Show in the U.K., we know how much DivaTV viewers enjoy the very best of U.S. chat and we are delighted to be adding The Talk—with its fresh take on topical issues and first-class celebrity guests—to our lineup of exclusive U.K. premier content.”
