Alfred Haber Takes on Spike TV Awards

PALISADES PARK, July 10: Alfred Haber Distribution (AHDI)
has picked up the international distribution rights to the Spike TV Scream
Awards
, honoring the best in the horror,
science-fiction and fantasy genres.

AHDI’s deal with the MTV Networks-owned male-skewing Spike
TV covers all international markets except the U.K. and Canada. The two-hour
event will premiere in October. “It’s hard to imagine
that the multibillion-dollar male-driven horror, sci-fi and fantasy industries
have not been recognized in a big mainstream way until now,” said Casey
Patterson, executive producer and senior VP of event production and talent
development for Spike TV. “We only need to look to the huge international box
office success of horror and fantasy films to realize that the time has come
for the Spike TV Scream Awards.”

“Spike TV is
well-known for its cutting-edge, trend-setting television programming,”
commented Alfred Haber, the founder of AHDI. “By following its unique formula
for success, I am confident that Scream 2006 will get a tremendous amount of action from
audiences around the world.”
