Discovery Renews DVD Distributors

SILVER SPRING: Discovery Communications has renewed its long-standing licensing partnerships with Polyband Film and Dutch Film Works as DVD distributors for Germany and Benelux, respectively. 

Under the terms of the agreements, both Polyband Film and Dutch Film Works maintain the right to manufacture and distribute Discovery Channel-branded programming on DVD, and for the first time on Blu-ray discs. In Germany, Polyband Film will offer new DVD and Blu-ray releases of titles from across the portfolio networks offered in the region, including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and DMAX. Polyband will market more than 50 titles across the three brands, including Discovery Channel’s NASA: When We Left Earth and Natural Wonders; the second season of Animal Planet’s Meerkat Manor; and DMAX’s Die Ludolfs season four and LA Ink. In Benelux, Dutch Film Works has also renewed their rights to license Discovery Channel branded DVD and Blu-ray releases that include Discovery Atlas, NASA: When We Left Earth, Human Body: Pushing the Limits, Sunrise Earth and Everest: Beyond The Limit.
