Discovery en Español Lines Up Originals

MIAMI: Beginning today, Discovery en Español is airing five original productions during the Discovery Presenta block, which airs every Sunday and features specials and programs for U.S. Hispanic audiences.

Through September and into October, the network will air programs featuring recent world events. The documentary La Ley del Miedo is about Arizona’s controversial SB 1070 and the consequences of the bill facing illegal immigrants.

Operación Sodoma: La Caída del Mono Jojoy takes a look at the rescue missions of the past decade featuring the military raid organized by the National Army of Colombia to find and kill top rebel commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Jorge Briceno Suarez. The documentary Los Hipopótamos del Capo is about the criminal Pablo Escobar and his personal zoo in the outskirts of Medellin, Colombia. His original herd of hippos has multiplied creating a national hazard.

La Vida Después del Rescate explores the lives of three of the miners who survived 77 days trapped underground after emerging on October 13, 2010. La Ruta de la Muerte is about the 72 migrant workers who were kidnapped and murdered on a ranch in Northern Mexico in the State of Tamaulipas.
