DISCOPRO Ready for Launch

PARIS: The fourth annual DISCOPRO training and pitching program is set for Tuesday, June 22, one day ahead of the opening of DISCOP East in Budapest.

With delegate attendance already up by 20 percent, DISCOPRO kicks off with a series of fiction co-production pitching sessions. A short list of six producers from Serbia, Hungary, France and the U.S. will pitch dramas, all with a connection to Eastern Europe, to a panel of experts. The judges include Philipp Kreuzer of Bavaria Fernseh Produktion, Helge Koehnen of Bavaria Media Television, Emmanuel Eckert of M6, Peter Lakits of Chello Central Europe and Katalin Schulteisz of HBO Holding.

The afternoon sessions will feature a FRAPA workshop on creativity in the format industry, followed by a keynote speech from Ty Warren, the senior VP of production at Raleigh Studios Budapest.

"DISCOPRO and DISCOP EAST are now two highlights of the international content calendar," said Patrick Jucaud, the general manager of DISCOP. "The importance of doing business in Central and Eastern Europe continues to increase which is confirmed by the rise in the number of attendees year on year."
