LOS ANGELES: The latest installment of Torchwood, being produced by BBC Cymru Wales, BBC Worldwide and Starz Entertainment, is set to premiere in July with new cast members that include Mekhi Phifer and Bill Pullman.

Torchwood: Miracle Day will air on the BBC in the U.K. and on Starz in the U.S., with BBC Worldwide handling distribution to the rest of the world. The ten-episode season has been written by a team led by Torchwood‘s creator, Russell T Davies, and produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. In addition to being shot in Wales, the show will also head to the U.S. and other locations.

John Barrowman and Eve Myles will return in their roles as Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper respectively. Joining the cast are Phifer (ER, Lie to Me) as a C.I.A. operative, and Pullman (While You Were Sleeping, Independence Day) as a convicted child killer who survives his own execution to become the most infamous man on the planet. Other new cast members include Alexa Havins and Arlene Tur.

In the new season, people don’t ever die, resulting in a boom in the population and impending disaster.
