Desperate Housewives Set for On-Demand Rollout in Denmark

LONDON, January 31:
Episodes from season three of Buena Vista International Television’s Desperate
Housewives
will be available on
demand in Denmark on the subscription broadband service TV2 Sputnik up to seven
days before their free-TV premiere on TV2.

Desperate Housewives is the first U.S. network series to be offered on
TV2 Sputnik, and this is BVITV’s first agreement in Scandinavia for
VOD/SVOD rights to its network series.

Starting tomorrow, in
line with the debut of the third season on TV2, episodes from all three seasons
of the series will be available as part of Sputnik’s subscription VOD service,
which offers more than 1,000 hours of TV and movie content for a monthly fee of
about $7.30. In addition, episodes from season three will be available for a
one-off payment per episode of approximately $2.60, from seven days in advance
of their free TV broadcast on TV2.

TV2 Denmark has been operating TV2 Sputnik since 2004. It
has offered mostly locally produced content on demand on but is now in the
process of expanding with international fare.
