Deadwood, OZ Head to DIRECTV

EL SEGUNDO: DIRECTV’s The 101 Network has added the HBO dramas Deadwood and OZ to its Sunday night lineup, airing them commercial free beginning May 21.

The shows were previously only available to HBO subscribers. Deadwood centers on the lives of settlers within the outlaw camp of Deadwood, South Dakota, while OZ chronicles life inside an experimental cell block in the Oswald Maximum Security Correctional Facility. All three seasons of Deadwood and six seasons of OZ will begin airing Sunday nights starting May 31 on The 101 Network, as well as on DIRECTV on DEMAND.

“We are committed to bringing the highest quality shows to our subscribers and these are two of the most riveting dramas ever made for television,” said Patty Ishimoto, the VP and general manager of DIRECTV’s The 101 Network. “When pay-TV shows like these move to other networks they are usually extremely edited versions, but DIRECTV customers will get to enjoy these incredible shows uncut, commercial free and in HD.”
