DCD Secures New Doc Sales

LONDON, October 27: DCD
Rights closed a number of deals at MIPCOM for September Films’ hour-long
documentary Pregnant Man, as well as
West Park Pictures’ 6×1-hour doc series Stephen
Fry in America.

Originally commissioned by
Channel 4 in the U.K., Pregnant Man has
been sold to Kanal 5 (Sweden), ProSiebenSat.1 (Germany), TVI (Portugal), TVNZ
(New Zealand), Discovery (Latin America), TV2 (Denmark), Yes DBS (Israel), VTM (Belgium),
TV Norge (Norway), Sogecable (Spain), Viasat (Baltics), MTV3 (Finland) and
Super Channel (Canada). The doc provides insight into the life of Thomas
Beatie, the first man in the world to give birth.

Stephen Fry in America, which follows the eponymous host as he travels in
a taxi to visit every state in the U.S., has been sold to UKTV, NRK (Norway),
Sky (New Zealand), ABC (Australia), Danmarks Radio (Denmark) and YLE (Finland).
The series was originally commissioned by BBC One.
