Date Set for HSM 2 Premiere in Southeast Asia

SINGAPORE, June 29: Disney Channel will premiere High
School Musical 2, the sequel to last year’s
hit Emmy Award-winning original movie, across Southeast Asia on Sunday,
September 9.

In the run-up to the premiere, the Disney Channel will air a
weekend of High School Musical-themed
programming, including a High School Musical concert, and High School Musical Around the World, which showcases music videos produced
internationally. Disney Channel shows like Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody will also feature some of the cast members from High
School Musical.

Filmed on location in Salt Lake City and St. George, Utah, High
School Musical 2 is from First Street Films
and Salty Pictures. Reprising their singing and dancing roles are Zac Efron as
star athlete Troy Bolton, Vanessa Hudgens as brainy transfer student Gabriella
Montez, Ashley Tisdale as drama club diva Sharpay Evans, Lucas Grabeel as drama
club idol Ryan Evans, Corbin Bleu as teammate and best friend Chad Danforth and
Monique Coleman as academic decathlete Taylor McKessie. Emmy Award winners Bill
Borden and Barry Rosenbush (High School Musical) are the executive producers of the sequel. Emmy
Award-winning Don Schain (High School Musical) is the producer.
