CW Takes Canadian Import

BURBANK: On August 3, The CW will launch 18 to Life, a CBC comedy that is represented worldwide by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

Billed as a modern-day Romeo and Juliet, the 12×30-minute 18 to Life will air Tuesday nights, with back-to-back episodes at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. It focuses on 18-year-old neighbors Tom and Jessie who run off and get married, forcing their warring families to become one. The cast includes Stacey Farber (Degrassi: The Next Generation), Michael Seater (Life With Derek), Peter Keleghan (Billable Hours) and Angela Asher (Degrassi: The Next Generation). The co-production between Galafilm and Sound Venture in association with CBC Television is currently in production on a second season.
