CW Drops Beautiful Life

BURBANK: The CW has axed The Beautiful Life after just two weeks, replacing the Ashton Kutcher-produced drama with repeats of Melrose Place.

The show, about models in New York, stars Mischa Barton, Corbin Bleu and Sara Paxton, among others. The premiere had drawn in about 1.5 million viewers, and the second airing just a million, according to published reports. The 9 p.m. Wednesday slot, following America’s Next Top Model, will now be filled by encore episodes of the new Melrose Place.The Beautiful Life is the first new series of the fall season to be cancelled; the first to be ordered was FOX’s Glee.
