Crunchyroll Aligns with o2 Telefónica in Germany

The Crunchyroll anime platform will be accessible via o2 Telefónica’s ecosystem in Germany beginning today.

The mobile operator’s customers can add a Crunchyroll subscription directly to their o2 account. Marking the launch, o2 is offering three months free access to Crunchyroll’s “Fan” tier, alongside one free month of o2 TV.

Beginning in November, o2 will also feature Crunchyroll within its Priority loyalty program, delivering a special offer for the “Fan” tier.

“Our new relationship with o2 will increase the accessibility of anime across Germany,” said Terry Li, Crunchyroll’s executive VP of emerging business. “By becoming part of the o2 ecosystem, we are making it even easier for fans across the country to enjoy the best of anime and discover new series through a trusted, seamless experience.”

“Anime is no longer a niche trend, but an integral part of modern pop culture, also in Germany,” added Markus von Böhlen, director of devices, trading and digital life at o2 Telefónica. “With Crunchyroll, we are making the leading streaming service for anime available to all o2 customers. This allows us to offer our customers even more choice and entertainment, tailored to their interests.”
