Conceptual Films to Unveil iPad Photo Portal

TORONTO: At this year’s Banff World Media Festival, Conceptual Films is launching the 360-degree initiative FOTO with Struan, an interactive portal for the iPad dedicated to photography.

Powered by moboVivo’s miScreens platform, FOTO follows fashion photographer Struan on a journey to explore the many facets of photography. The FOTO app for the iPad allows users to explore how professional photographers approach their craft in the many disciplines of photographer, from fashion to still life, portrait to documentary.

David Greener, Conceptual Films’ CEO, said, "We’ve done our research on what is out there and have found a rather fragmented approach to app development. What we are offering is a portal that not only teaches, but entertains, and allows the user to interact with the developer and the content we have produced. In this portal, you can take something away—knowledge of photography. You also can be entertained in the iTV section of the app that airs photography-based programming, which is AirPlay enabled, so you can watch it on your big screen with your Apple TV. Not to mention, all of the interactivity that comes with the app. There’s a place to share your photos and upload them right from your device to the FOTO Forum, to be discussed with our pros. In FOTO Tips, we have partnered with Henry’s Camera School of Imaging, where there will be great tips given on everything you might need to know about photography. Henry’s offers a truly special addition to this app, as no one knows cameras better than Henry’s. Bottom line, FOTO with Struan will offer a very rich interactive experience for the user unlike any other app on the market. Watch, learn, share and interact…there are the words that best sum up the FOTO experience."

"Working with Conceptual Films on this app was a great experience," added Trever Doerksen, moboVivo’s CEO and founder. "But the best experience is the user experience. App users get the behind-the-scenes story of some very famous photos, get to share their photos with a very famous photographer, and get to learn how to take better photos."
