Comedy Central Picks Up Second Season of Lil’ Bush

NEW YORK, October 2: Comedy Central has ordered a second
season of the hit animated show Lil’ Bush,
set to premiere in spring 2008 with ten new episodes.

Lil’ Bush presents
the American president and his pals Lil' Condi, Lil' Rummy (voiced by Iggy
Pop), Lil' Cheney and Lil' Jeb terrorizing the White House as precocious
youngsters who try to solve the world’s problems before bedtime. The series is
from creator and executive producer Donick Cary (The Simpsons, The
Late Show with David Letterman
),
co-executive producer Jay Karas and animated by Sugarshack Animation. Zoe Friedman
is the executive in charge of production at Comedy Central.

The series was originally made as animated shorts for Amp’d
Mobile, but the mobisodes quickly gained a following and was picked up by
Comedy Central, making Lil’ Bush the
first show to transition from mobisodes to TV series. The series premiered on
June 13 and averaged more than 1.5 million viewers per premiere episode. In its
Wednesday 10:30 p.m. timeslot, Lil’ Bush was the number-one show in all of television among men aged 18 to 24 and
the number-one show with men 18 to 34 on cable.

"We couldn't be more excited with the return of these
pint-sized politicians," said Lauren Corrao, the executive VP of original
programming and development at Comedy Central. "The ratings success along
with the timely subject matter makes this show a natural fit for the Comedy
Central spring line-up."
