Comcast Seeks to Eliminate Theatrical/Cable Window

LAS VEGAS, May 8: Speaking at The Cable Show in Las Vegas,
Comcast’s COO, Stephen Burke, said that the platform has been in discussions
with the Hollywood studios about showing movies on cable on the same day they
are released in theaters.

Burke explained that subscribers could be charged between
$30 and $50 for the films. "Everybody's looking at new windows,"
Burke is quoted as saying in a Reuters report. "We've talked to the
studios about this and they're all interested."
