Cinelatino Aligns with Argos

MIAMI: The U.S. Spanish-language movie channel Cinelatino, headed up by former Telemundo chief Jim McNamara, has partnered with the Mexican production company Argos for a slate of original TV movies.

"Argos has a track record for producing the highest-quality feature films and television product and we are confident these movies will deliver the great quality and entertainment value that characterize our channel," said McNamara, the president of Cinelatino. "We are excited to be able to offer our consumers original content designed with their specific interests in mind."

The partnership kicks off with two urban thrillers, with casts that include Marco Trevino (Capadocia, Malos habitos), Elizabeth Cervantes (Fuera del cielo) and Julio Bekhor (Sea of Dreams), among others. Production began this week for a fall premiere. The original production slate will continue to expand in the coming years.

"Cinelatino has the largest selection of Spanish-language movies available to the U.S. market and we will continue to acquire the biggest and best feature films from the top movie distributors," said McNamara. "Our original productions will complement our extensive library of critically-acclaimed and box office hits to ensure we continue to offer our consumers the most diverse and relevant material they have come to expect from the leading Spanish-language movie channel."
