SINGAPORE: Christine Fellowes takes on the role of managing director for Asia Pacific at Universal Networks International, where she will oversee NBCUniversal’s pay-TV channels in the region, as Raymund Miranda exits the post.

Fellowes had been overseeing E! Entertainment, The Style Network and The Gold Channel as the managing director for Asia Pacific at Comcast International Media Group (CIMG). Following CIMG parent company Comcast Corporation’s takeover of majority ownership of NBCUniversal earlier this year, Fellowes takes on an expanded remit under the Universal Networks International umbrella. She will now manage Universal Networks International’s combined channel brands in the Asia-Pacific region, including Syfy Universal, Diva Universal, Universal Channel, 13th St Universal, E! Entertainment, The Style Network and The Golf Channel. This includes full oversight of all commercial aspects of the channels operation, building local strategic partnerships and maximizing business performance. The new appointment sees Fellowes relocating from Hong Kong to Singapore. Fellowes reports to Belinda Menendez, the president of Universal Networks International and TV distribution.

Miranda, who has served as managing director of Asia Pacific for Universal Networks International, is leaving NBCUniversal to pursue other career opportunities.

Menendez commented, “We are delighted to appoint Christine to lead our combined pay-TV channels business in the Asia Pacific region. As one of the most highly respected and talented regional executives, she will bring a unique and compelling vision that will be vital to driving our integrated growth strategy.”  She added, “I’d like to thank Raymund Miranda for his tremendous contribution in building such a strong foundation for our regional channels business and wish him every future success.”
