Catastrophe Scores International Slots

SEATTLE/LONDON: Amazon released all six episodes of season one of Catastrophe today, as Avalon Distribution announced it had clinched deals on the London-set comedy in a number of international markets.

Written by comedian and best-selling author Rob Delaney and award-winning actress Sharon Horgan, the show first aired on Channel 4 in the U.K. It focuses on an Irish woman and an American man trying to make a relationship work after a night of passion leads to an unexpected pregnancy.

Heading to Amazon U.K. later this year, the Avalon Television production has been licensed to shomi in Canada, Sky in New Zealand, Channel 2 in Iceland and AMC Networks for the Sundance Channel in Benelux. Also, in Scandinavia, public broadcasters SVT, DR, Yle and NRK have picked up the series.

Catastrophe is exec produced by Richard Allen-Turner, Kara Baker, Delaney, Horgan and Jon Thoday.
