Canal+ & TVN Start Exclusive Negotiations

PARIS: The Canal+ Group has entered into exclusive negotiations with ITI and the TVN Group "to create a strategic partnership in Poland."

ITI Holdings, which owns a 56-percent share of TVN, is aligning with Vivendi’s Canal+ for the partnership talks. No further details were given by Canal+ in its announcement.

Vivendi already operates in the Polish TV market through Canal+, which owns CANAL+ Cyfrowy (Cyfra+), the country’s second largest satellite TV operator. TVN’s assets include Poland’s largest Internet portal, Onet.pl, and "n", its third largest satellite provider.
