Canada’s ole Strikes Peace Arch Deal

TORONTO, January 25: Canada’s largest independent music
publisher, ole, has inked a worldwide music-rights deal with Peace Arch
Entertainment Group.

As part of the multi-year alliance, ole will administer the
music rights to all Peace Arch Entertainment Group film and television
properties, including the critically acclaimed Showtime series The Tudors and the upcoming theatrical release Winged
Creatures
.

“Music rights have emerged as yet another exceptional
revenue opportunity stemming from the world-class content that Peace Arch has
produced over the years,” said John Flock, the president and COO of Peace Arch
Entertainment. “We believe that partnering with ole will allow us to further
exploit these opportunities on a global stage.”

Other production and distribution companies working with ole
include PorchLight Entertainment, the National Film Board Of Canada,
Shaftesbury Films and Sandra Carter Global. “We’re thrilled to add Peace Arch
Entertainment to our list of high profile television and film production
clients that rely on ole’s proven administrative expertise and global
connections to collect their music publishing royalties,” said Ed Killin, ole’s
senior VP of acquisitions.

Ole, which handles the music rights for WGBH’s Arthur, Amberwood Entertainment’s The Secret
World of Benjamin Bear
and Rollbots and the sci-fi cult series Lexx, among others, boasts a catalogue of more than 25,000
house of TV music.
