C4i Closes Doc Sales

LONDON, June 25: Channel 4
International (C4i), part of the Digital Rights Group, has sold a host of
documentary programming to Belgian broadcaster VRT, as part of a continuing
output deal.

The package includes My
Boyfriend the Sex Tourist
, Teenage
Wives
, The Girls Who Were Found
Alive
and The Girl in a Box. Additional titles included under the deal are Undercover
in Tibet
, Medicine Men Go Wild, The Fake Trade, The End of the World Cult, Battleship Antarctica, Ochberg’s Orphans and The Beckoning Silence.

Christina Willoughby, C4i’s managing director, commented, “We are
delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with VRT and the wide
range of titles picked up for the channel—all launched at MIPTV—is
a fantastic testament to the strength of our catalogue.”

Hilde Debackere, the head of program acquisition at VRT, added,
“Human-interest programs are important for a public broadcaster. The
documentary catalogue of C4i helps us to reach a broad audience.”
