Brown Johnson Signs on for Banff Keynote

TORONTO: Brown Johnson, the president of animation for Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, will wrap up the inaugural Kids & Animation Day at the Banff World Television Festival with a keynote address on June 9.

The Kids & Animation Day will feature program creators, broadcasters and executives in children’s and animation TV industries. There will also be a number of sessions, networking opportunities, broadcaster briefings and spotlights on high-profile industry players.

In her role at Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group, Johnson heads up development and production for all animated programming across Nickelodeon, while continuing to oversee development and production for all preschool programming. During her 20 years at Nickelodeon, she has supervised the creative direction of contemporary classics such as SpongeBob SquarePants, and Nickelodeon’s most recent hits The Penguins of Madagascar, in partnership with DreamWorks Animation, and The Mighty B!, starring Amy Poehler.

The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel hosts the Banff World Television Festival’s 30th edition from June 7 to 10.
