Brooke Upped at Discovery Networks UK

SILVER SPRING, April 15: Discovery Networks International
has promoted Dan Brooke to executive VP and managing director of Discovery
Networks UK.

In his new role, based at Discovery’s European headquarters
in London, Brooke will oversee the strategic development and operations of
Discovery's portfolio of 11 brands in the U.K., which reaches 80 million
cumulative subscribers, and includes Discovery Channel, Discovery Real Time,
Discovery Turbo and DMAX. He will report to Greg
Ricca, the president and CEO of Discovery Networks International.

Brooke was appointed general manager of Discovery Networks
UK in July 2005. Under his tenure, Discovery Networks UK has refined and
enhanced its portfolio of channels in the market, including the rollout of
Discovery Knowledge and Discovery Turbo in 2007, the debut of DMAX, the
company’s first general-entertainment channel in the market, in January 2008,
and the re-brand of Discovery Science in March 2008. He joined Discovery from
Channel 4 Television, where he served in a variety of executive roles, most
recently as controller of the broadcaster's digital channels.

“This promotion underscores the increasing maturity and
importance of our business in the U.K.,” said Ricca. “Dan’s strong leadership has
ensured the ongoing development of our business in the U.K., including the
launch of targeted new brands that have bolstered Discovery’s reach, relevance
and appeal in the market."
