Breakthrough Programming Sells Across the Asia Pacific

TORONTO: A range of deals have been closed with broadcasters across the Asia Pacific for titles from the Breakthrough Entertainment catalogue, totaling some 300 hours of programming.

From the kids’ slate, Breakthrough sold the animated series Dino Dan to MTV in New Zealand and Tooniverse in Korea. The animated title Fishtronaut went to Korean Digital Satellite, as well as to TVNZ of New Zealand, which also went for The Mooh Brothers. True Visions of Thailand scooped up Fishtronaut and the The Mooh Brothers as well, along with bagging My Big Big Friend.

Factual titles receiving international slots include Greatest Tank Battles, which scored a number of pickups. This includes Fox International Channels taking on the show for India, along with David Rocco’s Dolce Vita, and Beyond Distribution Australia picking up the DVD rights. LIC Beijing took Greatest Tank Battles for China, alongside CrackBerry’d: The Truth About the Information Age. GBN of Thailand purchased Beyond Medicine, Future Medicine, Situation Critical, Little Miracles and Patient Files. In Korea, Coign Media acquired the rights to Plastic Makes Perfect, Creo Content went for Combat Forces and Plus Media Partner purchased Future Revealed and Countdown to the Future. True Visions of Thailand opted for The Future Revealed, Countdown to the Future, The Re-Inventors, Ghost Cases, The Truth About Shoplifting and Crackberry’d: The Truth About the Information Overload.
