Breakthrough Developing New Feature Film

TORONTO: Breakthrough Entertainment has a new movie project in the works, The Signs of Living, which the company will introduce at this year’s Toronto Film Festival.

The Signs of Living is a drama about the tangled relationships that affect all of our lives. It follows an aging rock star who’s hit an emotional bottom. After discovering that his live-in girlfriend has lied about quitting her addiction that caused the demise of his band, and now their relationship, he sets out to change his life. Rosanna Arquette and Katie Boland have already signed on for the project and additional cast members will be announced later this year. The film is being directed by Gail Harvey.

Marina Cordoni, the executive producer of movies at Breakthrough, said: “Last year’s theatrical release of our first feature film, Confessions of a Porn Addict (starring Spencer Rice of Kenny vs Spenny fame) led the way for the production of our second feature A Wake (directed by Penelope Buitenhuis) being released later this year. In both cases, the talent attached are internationally recognized Canadians. That dynamic is important to us, as we move forward to increase our productions in the feature arena. We look forward to continuing this cycle with our new projects, with the added objective of reaching out beyond our borders to set up partnerships with U.S. and foreign distributors at pre-production stages.”
