Boomerang Joins Viasat in Nordic Region

STOCKHOLM: Viasat Broadcasting has added Boomerang to its pay-TV platform in the Nordic region, where the kids’ channel will launch February 1.

Boomerang will be available in the children and music package. From Turner Broadcasting System, Boomerang offers classic cartoons such as The Flintstones and Looney Tunes, alongside modern classics like Duck Dodgers. The channel will be showcased in localized language versions in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, and will also be part of the Viasat offering in Finland.

"We are happy to introduce the family channel Boomerang to Viasat’s many viewers. Boomerang is a really good complement to our children’s channel Cartoon Network," says Bo Falk Østergaard, the head of distribution for TBS Nordic.

"Boomerang makes our strong children’s and music package even stronger," added Hans Skarplöth, the CEO of Viasat Sweden. "Boomerang joins Cartoon Network as well as Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney and Disney XD. Boomerang with its classic cartoons fits perfectly."
