BKN Signs Up New L&M Agents

LONDON, August 13: To
support its animated children’s properties Zorro: Generation Z and Dork
Hunters from Outer Space
, BKN International has appointed a range of licensing
and merchandising representatives in Greece, Eastern Europe, Brazil, the Middle
East and Chile, among others.

Merchantwise will
represent Dork Hunters in
Australia and New Zealand. For Zorro: Generation Z, Spacetoon International is responsible for the
Middle East, Medialink will represent South Asia, Zero A Oito has signed on for
Portugal and Doce is covering Chile. Black and White will represent Zorro: Generation
Z
in Greece.

Kidz Entertainment A/S
will represent Dork Hunters and
Zorro in Eastern Europe and
Russia, while ITC Licensing will be responsible for both properties in Brazil.

BKN executives in its
owned-and-operated offices in Cologne, London, Barcelona and New York handle
all such services internally in their respective countries.

Nicola Andrews, the
managing director of BKN New Media in London, said: “We will continue to
appoint quality agents in all markets where we do not have our own offices on
the ground in order to expand our services and reach. Dork Hunters from
Outer Space
will begin broadcast
on GMTV here in the U.K. this Sunday, August 17, and the toys will launch this
fall. We have already commissioned and produced season two for 2009.”

Laura Tapias, the managing
director of BKN New Media in Barcelona, added: “We are holding a licensee
workshop next Tuesday, August 20, in São Paolo, Brazil, and will present all
facets of Zorro: Generation Z,
including the full toy line from Gulliver. Zorro: Generation Z will begin airing in many key markets later this
year and the toys will begin rolling out early in 2009. Season two in high
definition will be available in fall 2009.”
