Scripps Brings Green Programming to MIPTV

KNOXVILLE, April 9: Among Scripps Networks’ top offerings
for MIPTV is the HGTV series Living with Ed,
which the company expects will tap into broadcasters’ demands for content on
environmentally conscious lifestyles.

The series chronicles the daily life of the TV and movie
actor Ed Begley, a devout environmental activist, and his wife, Rachelle. The
docu-soap looks at their attempts to live in harmony with the
environment—Begley drives hybrid vehicles, powers his home with solar
panels and makes toast with the energy created by pedaling his stationary bike.

"It is very clear that living green is a trend that is
important to viewers worldwide as well as to Scripps Networks,” said Kristen
Jordan, the senior VP of international development for Scripps Networks.
"It is clear this is not a passing trend, but a change in lifestyle worldwide.
As the leader in lifestyle media, Scripps Networks is reflecting this in our
offerings such as Living with Ed, and we
have more environmentally-focused programs to come from all our brands.”
