ARD Germany Picks Up New Season of Sea Princesses

SYDNEY, August 13: ARD
Germany has acquired the second season of Southern Star’s animated children’s
program Sea Princesses, which
is based on an original book
series by Brazilian author Fabio Yabu.

The series explores the kingdoms of the sea, which are united
through the adventures of their youngest ambassadors, the Sea Princesses, led by Polvina (Octopus Princess), Ester (Starfish
Princess) and Tubarina (Shark Princess).

Produced by Southern Star
Entertainment and Neptuno Films Production with Flamma Films, the series has
also sold to Piwi in France, Discovery Kids in Latin America, RAI and RaiSat in
Italy, RTE in Ireland, IETV in Israel, Sun Kids Channel in India, Kids Central
in Singapore and M-Net in South Africa.

The series was commissioned
by Seven Network Australia. Neptuno Films distributes Sea Princesses in Spain and Portugal with Southern Star
distributing outside of these territories in consultation with Flamma Films in
Latin America.

Patricia Vasapollo, the
acting head of family, lifestyle and nature programming at Hessischer
Rundfunk/ARD, said: “We are very happy to have acquired the second season of Sea
Princesses.
Fortunately Ester,
Polvina and Tubarina will continue to tell us about their underwater
adventures!”
