Big Brother Bags Strong Ratings in Return to Poland

HILVERSUM, September 4: Endemol Polska’s Big Brother 4.1 launched on TV4 over the weekend and delivered a more
than five-fold increase in audience share in its time slot.

In comparison to the channel average of less than two
percent for this slot, the first part of Sunday’s premiere brought in a
9-percent audience share, while the second part grew to an 11.9-percent share,
peaking at 15 percent. Also during the show, the Big Brother website received 200,000 hits.

The reality format was previously shown in Poland on TV4’s
rival channel TVN. Three seasons were produced by Endemol Polska in 2001 and
2002.

Ryszard Sibilski, the managing director of Endemol Polska,
commented: “Big Brother’s opening night
performance proves that the format remains as strong as ever five years on.
It’s fantastic to see it back on air in Poland and judging by Sunday’s viewing
figures the audience is as excited about it as we are.”
