Ben 10 Magazine in the Works

LONDON, August 12: Turner
Broadcasting has granted Egmont Magazines the license to publish the first
official print title for the Cartoon Network animated series Ben 10, to be launched in 2009.

Readers will be provided
with a sneak peek of the new magazine in two special All About…Ben 10 issues this year. The first issue, which will
include a disc shooter and a fully branded Omnitrix watch, will go on sale on
August 27. The second issue will come out later this year.

With an initial print run
of 80,000, these special issues, aimed at 6- to 11-year-old boys, will offer
readers an insight into the characters and story lines while providing a range
of interactive features, competitions and gift giveaways. Additional magazine
content will include an exclusive comic, a create-your-own action scene, fact
files on villains, stickers and posters.

Ben 10 is a half-hour animated TV series that follows the
adventures of Ben Tennyson, who finds an alien watch in a crashed meteorite.
Ben uses the Omnitrix watch to transform into different alien beings.

Graham Saltmarsh, the
licensing director at Cartoon Network Enterprises, said: “The Ben 10 franchise continues to go from strength to
strength, recently topping the toy sales charts for two consecutive months.
With over 50 licensees on board, a Ben 10 magazine seems the natural next step. Egmont’s performance in the 6-
to 11-year-old boys’ magazine market is increasingly impactful and we are very
excited about this new Ben 10
magazine. The unique range of Alien super heroes, villains and fun gadgets that
make Ben 10 so popular with
this age group are sure to be excellently showcased in the All About…Ben 10 series.”
