HONG KONG: BBC Worldwide has closed a local adaptation deal in Indonesia on its hit format Dancing with the Stars (Strictly Come Dancing).

Indonesia’s IVM will air its version, called Dancing with the Stars, later this year. “The entertaining show Dancing with the Stars has already had major success in territories across Asia and we believe the show will prove to be every bit as popular with audiences in Indonesia, said Triandy Suyatman, the head of programming for IVM. "BBC Worldwide has a well-earned reputation for delivering hit programming and we are extremely pleased to be working with them on this exciting new show.”

The Indonesian deal follows the rollout of a Vietnamese version, Buoc Nhay Hoan Vu , on VTV3, earlier this year. “Dancing with the Stars has been successfully launched in Japan, China and India so it is fantastic news that another two countries in Asia have picked up this popular format," said Joyce Yeung, the senior VP and general manager for Asia at BBC Worldwide Sales & Distribution. "The show has a wonderful mix of glamour, competition and celebrity which makes it must-watch TV for all of the family wherever it airs.”
