BBC Worldwide Taps Partner for Rights Revenue Collections

LONDON, June 19: BBC
Worldwide has outsourced the collection of its secondary and tertiary rights
revenues to Compact Collections in a four-year deal.

Compact Collections will
collect revenue for international cable and satellite retransmission,
educational copying, public performance levies and private copy levies.

Nikki Touchard, the head
of rights at BBC Worldwide, said: “We hope very much that this new partnership
will deliver greater efficiencies as well as additional revenues for the rights
holders, underlining BBC Worldwide’s commitment to safeguarding and protecting
the commercial exploitation of rights around the world.”

Compact Collections has
collected more than £30 million on behalf of its clients over the last three
years. Other TV clients include National Geographic, Channel 4, FremantleMedia
Enterprises, ALL3MEDIA, Granada International and Discovery Communications.
