BBC Worldwide Clinches Largest-Ever Paraguayan Deal

RIO DE JANEIRO, September
8: As BBC Worldwide Americas kicked off its annual BBC Showcase today, it
announced its largest ever deal in Paraguay, licensing a total of 100 hours
across its factual and kids’ portfolios.

Telefuturo, one of
Paraguay’s leading broadcasters, and the new channel Hispanoamerica TV del
Paraguay, have acquired a combined total of 100 hours across the natural
history, children’s, history and factual-entertainment genres.

Telefuturo signed up for Killing
for a Living
, narrated by
Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins, Planet Earth and the children’s series Animalia, among
others.

Hispanoamerica TV del
Paraguay, meanwhile, acquired Blue Planet, the factual-entertainment title The Private Life of a Masterpiece, the docudrama Ancient Rome: The Rise and Fall
of an Empire
and Days that Shook the World, a
series of programs focusing on key events that changed the course of global
history.

senior VP of TV sales, co-productions and children’s, commented, “I’m delighted

BBC Showcase Latin America
