BBC Two to Air The Wire

LONDON: BBC Two plans to air all five seasons of the HBO hit series The Wire, stripped across the week, with transmission dates to be announced shortly.

This is the first time the series, which has a total of 60 episodes, will air on terrestrial TV in the U.K. The Wire‘s ensemble cast is led by British actor Dominic West as Officer James "Jimmy" McNulty, and includes Lance Reddick, Idris Elba, Clarke Peters, Wendell Pierce, Domenick Lombardozzi, Andre Royo, Sonya Sohn, Michael K Williams and Wood Harris.

Janice Hadlow, the controller of BBC Two, said: "The Wire is an exceptional series that will complement the range of distinctive and original U.K. drama available to viewers on BBC Two."
