BBC Renews SPTI Format

LONDON, September 26: The BBC has committed to a fourth
season of Sony Pictures Television International’s hit format Dragon’s Den for launch in 2007.

The show, co-produced by SPTI and BBC Factual Entertainment,
has been airing to strong ratings on BBC Two. Season three launched in August.
Ann Harris, the VP of U.K. TV production at SPTI, noted, “A third successful
series in the U.K. is proof that Dragon’s Den is a winning format. We are delighted at the success of Dragon’s
Den
and we believe that it will continue to
do well in the U.K. The format has also done very well internationally where it
has now sold to 16 countries, demonstrating its suitability for diverse
audiences in very different markets.”

The format has also sold to Seven Network in Australia, HRT
in Croatia, SET in India, Future TV in the Middle East, TNT in Russia and TVR
in Romania, among other markets.
