PARIS: Banijay International’s entertainment format My Parents Are Gonna Love You has sold to Muz-TV in Russia, for 20 episodes of the hidden-camera show to be produced by WeiT Media.

The show watches as singles get back at their picky parents. In addition to Russia, the format, which originated in France on NRJ 12, has also been sold in Belgium and the Netherlands and adaptations are under way in Greece and Romania. The show has also been piloted by FOX in the U.S.

Alongside My Parents Are Gonna Love You, Banijay is presenting the reality format Tempted, from Nordisk Film TV; the factual-entertainment format We’ll Always Be Mum and Dad, produced by Gil Productions for Israel’s Keshet; and Celebrity Stand-Up, the highest-rating original series ever for its primary broadcaster, TV2 Zulu in Denmark. Also on the slate are the new acquisition Comedy on the Edge and the family game show Don’t Say a Word.

Anna Tyumeneva, the head of acquisitions at Muz-TV, said, “Muz-TV is thrilled to have commissioned this amazing and funny format. We’re confident that it will be a huge success in Russia and a hit with the Muz-TV audience.

Karoline Spodsberg, the managing director of Banijay, added, “We are proud to present this new slate at MIPCOM. We are offering a variety of exciting formats that are all proven broadcast successes—at a time when new tried-and-tested programming is difficult to come by. This proves both the creative strength and industry reputation of Banijay’s internal companies, as well as the faith put in Banijay International by our external production partners.”
